Janet Reno: Child Snatcher of the Millennium

By Fred Mitchell.

It is quite horrific that the little 6-year-old boy from Cuba, Elian, whose mother died in her attempts to get him to this country, had to undergo yet another ugly ordeal. This little boy has already endured one great tragedy. One that many seems to have forgotten about. How many of us would have fared well if our mothers died when we were 6?

But to add insult to injury, Janet Reno, an insensitive and callous woman, decided to make poor Elian endure yet another tragic ordeal. At gunpoint. At machine gunpoint.

Note that Janet Reno climbed to where she is today by putting innocent falsely accused adults in jail. See "The Child Terror"

Now, whether or not Elian should have gone back to his father is not the issue I am addressing here. That is a sticky and complex issue, best left for the family involved to resolve. Elian's mother obviously deemed it important to get Elian to our shores, and now it would seem that her efforts were in vain.

Aside from that, the truculent, obtrusive, and highly dangerous efforts of Janet Reno and her "goon squad" is what I call to question here.

It is beyond comprehension to gauge how a young 6-year-old can become the focal point of international politics and a media circus that rivals Clinton's own salacious exploits. Yet it is the Clinton Administration that fully supports Reno's horrific actions. Is this their sick idea of "it takes a community to raise a child?" A community of armed thugs using deadly force?

And yet, this sort of thing goes on all the time. Standard procedure. Cold, heartless, inhuman force of the "law". And this sort of thing can happen to ANY of us. It did happen to myself many years ago. You may find that story featured on this site.

How hypocritical is our government? Recall what transpired at Ruby Ridge and Waco, not to mention the Move incident in Philadelphia many years ago, where many innocent children LOST THEIR LIVES to this type of overbearing government intrusion.

Janet Reno cares nothing for Elian. There are better, less obtrusive means to accomplish such goals, if indeed the goals should be accomplished at all. It is my opinion that Janet Reno was more interested in not "loosing face" than concern for Elian's welfare.

Another fallacy the government holds dear is that they think they can just send in psychologists to "fix" the damaging and traumatic results of their overbearing force. Well, I suppose we'll have to ask Elian 10 years from now what he thinks about that.

And so, for this reason, I declare Janet Reno the Child Snatcher of the Millennium.

How Reno can sleep at night is anyone's guess. I'm willing to bet that Elian probably has horrible nightmares over what happened. The loss of his mother, and being snatched at gunpoint.

Are we any better than Cuba? At least Cuba is very honest about where they stand. Here, we are fed lies about our "freedoms" and "liberties". In actual fact, especially when it comes to our precious little ones, we have no freedom. The state "owns" our kids, and reserves the "privilege" to snatch them from us at any time, without warning or justification. Using deadly force.

George Orwell had no idea just how bad things would become. The worst totalitarian regime is not Orwell's, where everyone clearly knew and understood they had no freedom. The worst is where the government allows us to live a lie of freedom, so that we'd be less inclined to bring about the needed change.

"Give them their bread and their circuses." Yes, the government does that very well. Ever wonder why the government bends over backwards to make sure everyone has access to TV? Especially when there are far more important issues that go ignored?

Stand firm, and know your government for what it is. The United States, in many respects, is a totalitarian regime with the appearance of a democracy. The government has all of us on a leash. As long as we don't tug on that leash, we're "OK". But tug too hard and we're hung.
